Ryan Grant burst onto the scene at midseason last year and saved many alert waiver-watchers. The Packers running back rushed for eight scores and 929 yards over the final 10 games.
That momentum has not carried into 2008, with 625 yards and two measly touchdowns through nine games.
This was worth a high second-round pick? Fret not.
It seems an odd week to predict success against a Bears defense that just held the Titans' LenDale White and Chris Johnson to a combined 22 yards on 24 carries, but I'm going with my gut and endorsing Grant.
The Bears dared the Titans to beat them through the air last week, and they did. So expect a different approach this week, creating a seam or two for Grant. He'll hover around 100 hard-fought yards and add a TD.
Extra pointers: Don't outthink yourself and bench the Giants' Brandon Jacobs against the Ravens' fierce run defense. He's a load and will keep on rolling. ... The Bills must win Monday to keep pace in the AFC East. I like the slumping Marshawn Lynch. ... Michael Turner's a given against Denver, but get Falcons backup Jerious Norwood in too. He's averaged about 100 total yards while scoring in back-to-back weeks.
