Thanksgiving TV viewing guide
Thanksgiving is a time for family togetherness, good cheer, feasting and spending at least part of the day plopped down in front of the tube. Here are some highlights of specials and sports that will air today. We don't guarantee that it includes every giblet of programming across the hundreds of channels on modern TV, but it does hit the highlights. All times are Pacific.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade:The 82nd annual procession down Broadway in New York City features performances by Miley Cyrus, David Archuleta and Darius Rucker. 9 a.m. on KNBC/4; 1 p.m. on KCBS/2.

Tennessee Titans vs. Detroit Lions :It's tradition that the Lions host a game on Thanksgiving, even if they're 0-11. They're facing the 10-1 Titans, so this game could be out of reach before the bird is loaded into the oven. 10 a.m. KCBS/2.

"Twilight Zone" marathon:OK, maybe it's not a true marathon but you still get 10 episodes of the groundbreaking series for your Turkey Day enjoyment. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. KTLA/5.

"Bob Newhart" marathon:WGN, a "superstation" out of Chicago that's carried on most cable and satellite providers, presents two big blocks of the original "Bob Newhart Show," which was set in the Windy City. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight, WGN.

"Godfather" marathon:While viewers may have clamored for seconds of "Mad Men," AMC instead serves up the greatest gangster saga of all time. "The Godfather" airs at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., "The Godfather, Part II" follows at 3:30 p.m. and midnight. "The Godfather, Part III" won't be shown (another reason to be thankful).

National Dog Show:Host John O'Hurley calls the action from Reading, Pa., where more than 2,000 canines are competing for all the kibble. Noon. KNBC/4.

"Real Housewives"marathon: With Bravo, it's hard to tell a holiday marathon from the channel's usual "Housewives"-heavy programming, but this Thanksgiving you can see all three versions of the franchise. "The Real Housewives of New York City" runs 1 p.m.-5 p.m., the Orange County contingent gets one episode at 5 p.m., then the Atlanta crew takes over 6 p.m.-2 a.m. Bravo.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys :The afternoon contest, featuring 2-9 Seattle against 7-4 Dallas, is only slightly more competitive than the morning tilt. 1:30 p.m. KTTV/11.

"Miracle on 34th Street":Nothing says "It's time to get shopping" like this time-honored holiday classic starring Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O'Hara and Natalie Wood. 2 p.m. KNBC/4.

Texas A&M vs. Texas:The Aggies and the Longhorns square off in the 115th edition of the Lone Star Showdown. 5 p.m. ESPN.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles :If you're among the few and the proud who get the NFL Network, and if you aren't already overstuffed on Football, this game is for you. 5:15 p.m. NFL Network.

"Charlie Brown Thanksgiving":In case you missed Tuesday's broadcast, or if you can't get enough of the "Peanuts" gang, the holiday perennial gets warmed over at 8 p.m. on KABC/7.

"The Incredibles":NBC aims for the family audience by showing the Oscar-winning, mega-popular animated feature. 8 p.m.

"The Godfather," starring Marlon Brando, will be served up twice today on AMC.

More than 2,000 canines will be competing at The National Dog Show in Reading, Pa.

Season four of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" features, from left, Lauri Waring, Vicki Gunvalson, Jeana Keough, Gretchen Rossi and Tamra Barney
