PLAYER NOTES
--QB Kerry Collins struggled through the first half, completing just 4 of 10 for 86 yards in Jacksonville with an interception. He responded by going 9 of 13 after halftime for 144 yards and three TDs.
--WR Justin Gage, now recovered from a sprained MCL that cost him two games, had his best receiving day ever with four catches for 147 yards and two TDs.
--CB Eric King broke the same forearm Sunday that needed surgery to have a plate inserted last year. King will have to have surgery again, and it is not known if his season is over. If the Titans put him on injured reserve, CB Cary Williams is likely to be elevated from the practice squad.
--RB Chris Henry, a second-round pick from 2007, has not been active for a single game this season and probably won't be unless Chris Johnson or LenDale White misses time with an injury. Henry and OT Mike Otto are the only Titans to have been inactive every game this season.
--DE Jevon Kearse had one of four Titans sacks against Jacksonville. Kearse now has 2.5 sacks this season and his first once since Sept. 21 vs. Houston.
--DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, out with a groin strain the past two weeks and unable to finish a game since Oct. 5, has a chance to return this week.
--CB Nick Harper should return from an ankle injury that kept him out against Jacksonville Sunday.
REPORT CARD VS. BENGALS
PASSING OFFENSE: A-minus -- The first half was a struggle, but the Titans took advantage of Jacksonville cornerback Drayton Florence in the second half with Kerry Collins hooking up with Justin Gage for a pair of long TDs (56 and 38 yards). Collins also had a TD throw to Brandon Jones. The only downside was a 1-of-12 showing on third down. That one was the 56-yarder to Gage.
RUSHING OFFENSE: B -- It wasn't splashy, but Chris Johnson (17 carries, 64 yards) and LenDale White (14 carries, 52 yards) got the job done well enough, despite averaging only 3.5 yards per carry Sunday.
PASS DEFENSE: A-plus -- David Garrard had a decent first half, completing 8 of 16 for 90 yards, but was shut down in the second half, going 5 of 14 for 45 yards. The Titans also sacked Garrard four times.
RUSH DEFENSE: B -- The first half was a collection of missed tackles from the Titans, but they shored that up at halftime and limited the Jaguars to just 49 yards rushing in the second half.
SPECIAL TEAMS: B -- No big plays here, but no costly mistakes either. The highlight play was Chris Carr's open-field tackle on Jacksonville's Brian Witherspoon on the 28-yard line after the Titans kicked off from the 15 following Brandon Jones' touchdown celebration penalty.
COACHING: A -- Whatever ailed them in the first half, the Titans adjusted well in the locker room and dominated the final two quarters against their AFC South rivals. The passing game continues to improve and take pressure off the running game, while the defense dialed up a few more blitzes Sunday than usual to keep the Jags guessing.
