PLAYER NOTES

--RB Chris Johnson now appears poised to gain the lion's share of the rushing attempts, though coach Jeff Fisher would not admit to such on Monday. Johnson had 18 carries for just 44 yards against Baltimore on Sunday, but LenDale White, who had been getting a 50-50 split at the start of the season, rushed only three times for 4 yards. White had 11 rushes the previous week against Minnesota, while Johnson had 17 carries.

--DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, the iron man of the Titans defensive line, sat out most of Sunday's game after straining his groin in the first half. Vanden Bosch did not return, leaving Dave Ball and Jacob Ford to fill in. The bye week comes at a good time for Vanden Bosch, who has not missed a game, or very many snaps for that matter, since signing with the Titans three years ago.

--DT Tony Brown did not return to the game Sunday after suffering an ankle injury. With Brown and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch both out, and Albert Haynesworth in and out of the lineup, the Titans were down to four healthy defensive linemen at one juncture in the second half.

--KR Chris Carr struggled in the first three games of the season, but he has three long returns the past two games. Carr had a 51-yard kickoff return against Minnesota two weeks ago, and on Sunday he had a 48-yard kickoff return and a 33-yard punt return.

--CB Nick Harper sealed the game for the Titans for the second straight week with a fourth-quarter interception. He picked off Gus Frerotte two weeks ago, setting up Tennessee's final touchdown, and he intercepted Joe Flacco on Sunday on the Ravens' ensuing drive after the Titans had taken the lead.

REPORT CARD VS. RAVENS

PASSING OFFENSE: C -- As Kerry Collins admitted, it was ugly for 3 1/2 quarters before the Titans rallied with 10 points late to win the game. The wide receivers, playing without Justin Gage, did not catch a pass until Brandon Jones' 14-yard reception with 2:56 to go in the third quarter.

RUSHING OFFENSE: D -- The Titans had to know the rushing yards would be hard to come by against Baltimore, but 47 yards on 22 carries is not good. Chris Johnson's first carry of 13 yards was his longest of the day, as he was held to 44 yards total.

PASS DEFENSE: C-plus -- The Titans came through with two key interceptions of Ravens QB Joe Flacco, but both passes were horribly ill-advised rookie mistakes. In between, Flacco was solid but not spectacular, at one point completing 12 in a row with mostly short, safe throws.

RUSH DEFENSE: C -- The Ravens stuck with the run, rushing 38 times for 152 yards, far too many for a Titans defense that prides itself on stopping the run. Shortage in numbers along the defensive line certainly played a role, however.

SPECIAL TEAMS: A -- A bright spot for the Titans with a long kickoff return and punt return from Chris Carr, as well as three touchbacks and two field goals from Rob Bironas. Craig Hentrich overcame a scare from back spasms earlier in the week and was solid punting the football.

COACHING: C -- The defense suffered through two penalty-ridden drives that helped the Ravens to all 10 of their points. Some credit must be given for regaining focus before it was too late. Speaking of too late, the Titans waited until the fourth quarter to throw the football, almost abandoning the downfield pass for a time after Kerry Collins' second interception in the first half.
