--Rookie DT Jason Jones, who gets the start in Albert Haynesworth's spot on Sunday, has been wearing the jerseys of fallen teammates Haynesworth and Kevin Vickerson (currently serving a four-game suspension) in practice in recent days. But it is not out of tribute that he donned Vickerson's No. 96 last Friday or Haynesworth's familiar No. 92 on Wednesday.
It is much simpler than that for the rookie, who usually wears No. 91.
"Rookie pranks are still going on in the locker room right now. Right now, I can't find both of my practice jerseys," Jones said. "I've got a couple of suspects in mind right now. I'm doing a little private investigation. I'm not going to release (the names) right now. There are some funny guys in this locker room."
--Backup QB Vince Young has filed a lawsuit in a Houston court over the trademark use of his initial nickname "VY" and the term "Invinceable."
The lawsuit filed against a business named "Three Friends," consisting of individuals Rodney Vannerson, Tom Roberson and Enos Cabell, claim that those nicknames and initials rightfully belong to Young for the purpose of marketing himself.
The defendants apparently trademarked the two terms shortly after Young led the University of Texas to the national championship in the Rose Bowl in January 2006, defeating Southern California.
"It's a trademark infringement thing," Young's agent Major Adams said. "Right after the Rose Bowl game, even before Vince ever decided he was going to turn pro, the announcers were talking about 'VY' and 'Invinceable,' and these guys went out and tried to be the first ones to run out and try and trademark those terms. It's just someone else trying to make money off Vince's likeness and his image."
--CB Cortland Finnegan, recently named to his first Pro Bowl, was only half kidding when he said he has a fear of flying and might be tempted to take a cruise to Hawaii rather than an airplane.
"I'm thinking of taking a tranquilizer or something of that sort when I go over to Hawaii," Finnegan said. "I'm really scared to go. I've actually thought about going over on a cruise a lot earlier, but a lot of people have laughed about that."
BY THE NUMBERS: 6 -- Pro Bowl players from the Titans who were selected to the AFC squad. The group includes DT Albert Haynesworth, C Kevin Mawae, LT Michael Roos, CB Cortland Finnegan, SS Chris Hope and RB Chris Johnson.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think that Cort has a good sense of how to keep himself in control, because if you thought Derrick Mason was a handful, Hines Ward will definitely give you everything that you want. I think Cortland is aware of that and he'll be prepared for that matchup on Sunday. As feisty or whatever you guys think Cortland is, Hines is times 10." -- LB Keith Bulluck, on Finnegan facing Hines Ward on Sunday. Finnegan and former Titan Derrick Mason got into a skirmish when the Titans played Baltimore in October.
