Tennessee Titans Notes, Quotes 2009-02-13
--P Craig Hentrich is still expected to retire, but still has not made a final decision on his future. Hentrich has been bothered by back problems over the latter portion of his 15-year NFL career and has had two surgeries, the latest one after the 2007 season.

"I still haven't decided. I'm just trying to let my body heal up and feel better before I make any decision," Hentrich said.

Hentrich's contract is up as well, and he can be an unrestricted free agent, but says he has no desire to play anywhere but Tennessee.

--The Pro Bowl proved to be rough sledding for Titans players, as CB Cortland Finnegan was victimized by a pair of touchdown catches from Arizona Cardinals superstar WR Larry Fitzgerald, including one Hail Mary right before halftime.

Also, Titans QB Kerry Collins, while he did throw a touchdown pass in the second quarter, also had a pass picked off and lost a fumble when Jared Allen stripped the ball away. The NFC turned that fumble into a touchdown.

--TE Bo Scaife's agent said he has advised his client to make a foray into the free agent market to see what his value is. Scaife, who led the Titans in catches in 2008 with 58, wants to come back to Tennessee, and the Titans want him to return. But agent Kevin Robinson wants the market to determine Scaife's value.

"At this point, what I've really told Bo is, 'You need to go and see what the market will bear,'" Robinson said. "I think he would be remiss not to explore the market and see what his value is, unless the Titans stepped up and made it worth his while not to step out there and see what his worth is as far as free agency is concerned."

--QB Chris Simms has hopes of returning to the Titans as well, even though the team is trying to re-sign Kerry Collins as it starter.

"They reached out to my agent a little bit and contacted him, and I've had people reach out to me in the organization, too. To me, they've gone above and beyond by basically calling to say I was still on their radar and that they'd like to get something done," Simms told the Nashville City Paper.

There have been reports that the Chicago Bears and perhaps the Dallas Cowboys would be interested in Simms as a backup, if he were to leave the Titans.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Things are kind of slow around the league right now. So it's not abnormal. We're having discussions with a number of the UFAs, but I would like to make progress at some point." - Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt on the slow-moving process of negotiating with the team's key unrestricted free agents.
