Steelers matchup: Week 16
Titans Tight ends Alge Crumpler and Bo Scaife

Scaife (6-foot-3, 249 pounds) leads the Titans in receptions (53) and ranks second in receiving yards (528), even though he's listed as the backup to Crumpler (6-2, 262). The pair has accounted for three of the Titans' 12 touchdown receptions (two for Scaife). But where they really contribute is in blocking. The Titans run a lot of two-tight ends sets, and they run the ball a lot (459 times, as opposed to 407 passes).

Steelers outside linebackers James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley

Harrison (6-0, 242) and Woodley (6-2, 265) are the most prolific pair of pass-rushing OLBs in Steelers' history. Harrison ranks fourth in the NFL in sacks with 19 and Woodley is tied for eighth with 11.5. But the two are also critical elements of the Steelers' No. 2 run defense. And the Steelers always endeavor to stop the run first and foremost. That attitude should prove particularly useful in Tennessee.

THE MATCHUP

One or both of the Steelers' OLBs will be matched up against a TE on running plays, and those individual battles may dictate the success of Tennessee's No. 5 rushing attack and, ultimately, decide the game. The Steelers won't necessarily always want to funnel the play inside, but they will have a specific plan as to where to force the ball-carrier depending upon the call of the defense. Harrison and/or Woodley have to dominate, lest RBs Chris Johnson and LenDale White move the sticks with regularity and, perhaps, add to their total of 22 combined rushing touchdowns. EDGE: Steelers

LAST WEEK

The Ravens had some success running the ball, particularly in their "jumbo" package, and got 87 yards from RB Le'Ron McClain and 112 overall (their second 100-yard day rushing against the Steelers' defense in two tries). But they never ran it over the goal line or crossed the goal line in any way, shape or form. EDGE: Steelers
